It might surprise some folks, but I'm incredibly cynical when it comes to AI and what is possible; yet I keep an open mind. That said, two weeks ago, when I was in SFO, I discovered another thing that should not be possible. Every time I find out something that
"I've heard many people say something like "money won't matter post-AGI". This has always struck me as odd, and as most likely completely incorrect."
Really great article. It's hard to disagree with any of it. We could be entering a world that is strictly inflexible for the majority. At least whatever small capital we have won't matter anymore.
Imagine a VERY populated planet/system/galaxy. Like just tons and tons of individuals doing their thing, coming up with ideas and doing projects and so on.
Sometimes you get depressed because whatever you're working on has been done, or is being done, or worked on faster and better. There is just SO MUCH out there that it is inevitable. Makes it feel pointless.
But then you get over it and do your thing anyway, because you like it. Because you want to. Because it's yours.
