Learning. Strange how much learning is structured as someone telling someone else what to do yet we know in our bones that learning by observing works best. I'm thinking of the difference between reading a book on writing a story vs. paying attention to stories by others.
Lessons to consider from Martha Wells's Murderbot Diaries:
- first person? partly?
- humor to what degree?
- action? do I even like action?
- commitment to weird alien names of human characters
- diverse sexuality
