The denim I bought yesterday is even better than I thought. I always do a washing test on a 50-cm piece before using new denim to check shrinkage and skewing. The shrinkage on this denim is crazy! 12% along the warp and 5% along the weft! And that skewing! Of course, I cut it perfectly straight before washing, as you can see in pic 2. Now if only I had time to do some sewing ...

Found some really nice denim in a tiny fabric shop in Osaka today. Right-hand twill, about 11 oz. I like denim with plain white selvedge. Perfect for 1870s to 1930s waist overalls!
