Data Tables Are Here! 📊

Hey everyone 👋 We’re super excited to share that starting with v1.113 we’re rolling out data tables (beta) to all plans. 📊 Since the very beginning of n8n we’ve heard many of you mention the need for a proper table inside n8n to store data between workflow executions without needing to switch platforms or setting up credentials and now it’s finally here. With data tables you can: Save specific data from your workflow runs Keep data around between multip...

@samirx Granted AFAIK @tails_live / @tails / #Tails does some #signature and #Checksum checks to enshure it's integrity, as anything but the seperate #PersistentStorage partition is mounted #ReadOnly...

@SweetAIBelle tho AFAICT the "#PersistentStorage" in @tails_live @tails / #Tails is just a fancy #GUI to handle #LUKS devices in #Userspace and basically just mount it's content under $HOME/Persistent/ aka. /home/amnesia/Persistent and merely handle some completely hidden subfolders for settings, translations and 3rd party apps...

I'm shure if I dive deeper into it I'll get the details at @torproject ...

Persistent Storage для Kubernetes на базе Linstor

@tails @torproject Worse of all: The way I want to deploy #Tails is by shoving the latest #ISO on a #Flashdrive that runs #Ventoy [https://www.ventoy.net/en/index.html] and puts the #PersistentStorage on a seperate Partition on the #Flashdrive.

This is done so that updating Tails is fast and painless and doesn't exert higher levels of wear and tear on flash memory as well as allow for flexible choice of media sizes.

Worse: #Tails refuses to mount #PersistentStorage from a secondary Drive instead.

Ventoy

Ventoy is an open source tool to create bootable USB drive for ISO files. With ventoy, you don't need to format the disk again and again, you just need to copy the iso file to the USB drive and boot it.

@tails For example, I do want to preconfigure some basics like @torproject #Bridges and settings like "use Port 890 & 443 only" which #TorBrowser allows me to do, but #Tails doesn't.

Or at least they don't allow me to just change a config file on the #PersistentStorage to do so.

Worse: I can't even do a single #ClockSync via #NTP without having a #Tor connection up and running, which is really bricking stuff.

@tails #Tails shouldn't care where and how I boot the #OS!

It should also not give a damn where the #PersistentStorage is located.

I'm currently evaluating it for a setup with some #ThinClients as a #privacy-concious #InternetCafe Client where people can either boot their flashdrive OR have the preinstalled #Tails just run as the main OS and have the option to just setup #Tails on their own drive or mount their Persistent Storage.

This isn't too much to ask for, or is it?

One thing that kinda pisses me off about @tails is that it's #PersistentStorage - which is just a fancy name for #LUKS encryption - is absurdly restrictive and the #setup doesn't even want to work.

Like yes there's a reason I'm booting the #ISO via #Ventoy [ https://www.ventoy.net/en/index.html ] and yes I want to use the vacantly kept 8GiB at the end of the flashdrive to be useable as for persistent storage and no, I need that drive to be as is since it's a #multiboot drive designed to be easily updated.
