2025 update: About 13 months later, Ventoy finally acknowledged the issue in May 2025 and it seems like they’re going to try to resolve these concerns. Das EN am Ende eines Menüeintrags bedeutet übrigens, dass dieses Live-System ungefragt auf englisch startet – auch mit englischer Tastaturbelegung, was unsere Gäste immer wieder verwirrt.
Besonders verwirrend ist das aktuelle Live-Image von #Lubuntu, das zwar nach der gewünschten Sprache fragt, dann aber trotzdem immer eine englische Tastaturbelegung verwendet. Deswegen fiel diese Distri bei uns weg. /c

garyi don't want to be a curmudgeon, some of that attitude is warranted but you still have to produce and try some things. I am working on basic 5 page site template but also bigger efforts, addressing smb mkt not just local break/fix mkt. maybe the bootable nvme idea (hardened deb) with persistence and enc - a must for the road warrior but good for anyone who values security and privacy #fido #fips #extras #working drivers #vetted #pentoo #ventoy

how does grub chainloading work? I have a laptop with a locked bios that can’t boot usb, but has grub already installed. I want to boot a windows virtual disk from a ventoy stick, but I can’t get the original grub to pass over to ventoy grub
In grub cmdline:
insmod chain
set root=(hd0,msdos2)
configfile /grub/grub.cfg
it goes to a blank screen, then a few seconds later
error: can't find command `vt_clear_key`.
error: can't find command `vt_list_img`.
error: file `/grub/themes/ventoy/theme.txt` not found.
I haven’t had to deal with grub cmdline in almost a decade so I am ignorant on how things work here
