The police had made it clear that they saw the Jewish community as in need of high levels of support and police protection at this time.

Why were significant police resources diverted away from protecting the Jewish community against extreme violence and instead used in what appears to be a "perception management" stunt by the Starmer government.

The world was globalizing at a very fast pace for the average folk, and public and private institutions were increasingly less dependent on what happened at home to keep things afloat. It was so easy to manipulate truth with stuff like radio and TV, too, particularly when it came to things that were a whole sea away. I can see how #perceptionManagement became a thing pretty quickly, how eager the high society was to become detached from the rest of the planet and achieve perfect power with zero accountability.

I can kinda see why older people yearn for times long past gone, even if things were objectively worse in many ways.
