Let's face it… The headstocks on #guitar, #mandolin, #violin, most stringed instruments really are plain boring. Functional, yes, but not at all that noteworthy.
This one, on the other hand is #ART. This is the headstock on my doshpuluur. And #carving a horse's head, and sometimes goats, swans, or camels is really common in #Mongolia and #Siberia.
OK, not mine, but here are camel and swan headstocks too; on a tovshur and morin huur respectively.
