A lovely badge. The notions of liberty, equality and fraternity are embedded in French from the the French Revolution that they were brought together as a tripartite motto. It was first added to the pediment of public buildings on 14 July 1880 after the Empire. It appears in the Constitutions of 1946 and 1958 and is today an integral part of French national heritage. Just as is making perry pear cider or Poiré. #pear #pearcider #perry #French. #Normandy
Tiny perry pears. A wilding but good tannins. Even at harvest they are still tiny and spherical. I call this one Carterton as the original tree is still growing in the area and looks over a hundred years old and neglected. I grafted it on a few years ago. A few more years and I will be able to make a SV perry from it! Maybe tilting at windmills at my age!😉 #perry #pears #pearcider #orchard
Filling barrels with the freshly pressed pear juice . The aroma is fantastic. 125 litres pressed this year. Our best harvest in terms of quality, sugar content and flavour. #perry #pearcider #pearjuice
Successful open day at TeePee Cider & BeauVista Orchard . Great to see customers enjoying real cider. #cider #perry #pearcider #cellardoor #apple #pear #wairarapa
Maybe an organic perry maker in the future? As seen in Wellington/Te Whanganui a Tara today. 😉 #perry #pearcider #pear
Perry pears are thought to be derived from wild hybrids, known as wildings, between the cultivated pear Pyrus communis subsp. communis brought into Europe by Romans, and into England by Normans and the native now-rare wild pear Pyrus communis subsp. pyraster. #perry #pearcider
Grafting today. Dyers Pass Perry scion onto rootstock. We need more pears! #cider #pearcider #perry
