Just went out in the backyard to enjoy a brief sun break, and got a lifer!

A huge ragged V of greater white-fronted geese flew over, chattering like maniacs. ☺️

Linda spotted three bushtit fledglings on the street in front of our house – not-quite ready-to-fly fledglings who either fell out of the nest or got pillaged by a larger bird?

One didn’t make it, but these two spent a few minutes in this box while I called Portland Audubon for advice – which was to leave them near the nest (but under protective cover) so their parents could find and care for them.

Checked out the window just now, and mom and dad are on it! ☺️

Spotted a mini-murmuration of starlings mobbing a Cooper’s hawk this morning.

Didn’t realize that was something they did, and I was rooting for the hawk!
