My girlfriend got me a #HarleyBenton #diy #guitar kit for Christmas so I decided to build a #partscaster I'd be excited about.
photo 1: The assembled guitar. The main upgrades are a bridge with vintage bent saddles and a big brass tremolo block, vintage split-shaft tuners and The Revival RPS6 #JimiHendrix style pickups. The knobs and everything were white, but I prefer cream on a white pickguard.
I started working on the neck, cutting the headstock to size and properly tapping in the frets, but I have not finished it yet.
photo 2: I wanted to stain the body seafoam green, but it was already grounded and the stuff penetrated deep into the body, leaving some marks where the stain would not catch on, even after a lot of sanding. I decided to embrace the imperfections and sand down the paint to show more of the bare wood.
photo 3 & 4: The body is fully oiled up and is currently curing. I'm happy with the result so far. I will finish it with Renaissance wax in a couple of days
I will post more pictures once the guitar is finished.

A work in progress; adapting a keyboard-centric piece of music to guitar. The instrument is a homemade partscaster with a hybrid MIDI Controller, made using Graphtech hexaphonic bridge saddles to replace the stock hex pickup of a Fishman TriplePlay.

Arturia MiniFUSE 2 audio interface, and using MuseScore Studio as a DAW, with natural electric guitar, acoustic guitar, using Arturia Pigments to create a pseudo-Acoustic Guitar synth and using Arturia Augmented STRINGS to create a finger plucked acoustic Bass sound.
