Wanted to point out an update regarding the future #Luxembourg #Saarbrucken #CrossBorderRail
From the Article:
- The new line will mean that travel times “shouldn’t be more than 30 minutes” for passengers.
- Authorities in Saarland first need to carry out work to reactivate an old train line, which could “happen by 2032 or a bit earlier”, Ries said, and then “extend it up to Luxembourg”. (what line? I cannot find any coming close to the border)
After this, the article completely veers off to talk about completely different things.
Also, one more thing to point out:
- Lawmakers in the German state are keen to examine the possibility of extending free travel on a more permanent basis, as in neighbouring Luxembourg, although paying for such a measure would be a sticking point, the Saarbrücken councillor said.
Breaking news, politician wants something but doesn't want to fund it.
