Parallels Desktop просто божественен. После VirtualBox и уж тем более после virtManager это как яйца вытащить из тисков. Такое облегчение.

Alludo(旧Corel)傘下のParallels International GmbH.は現地時間2026年01月14日、macOS 26 TahoeやWindows 11 25Hをサポートした「Parallels Desktop 26 for Mac v26.0.0」での、いくつかの不具合を修正した「Parallels Desktop 26 for Mac v26.2.1」をリリースしたと発表しています。

Fun. I just noticed that with a Linux virtual machine on #Parallels Desktop, in a file system mounted from a case-insensitive macOS volume, calling stat() on various variants of the name of an existing file name that differ only in case of one or several characters, the returned inode number is different!

Apparently to figure out whether a directory is on a case-sensitive file system or not, one has to actually check, there is no reliable way to get the information from the OS? Which makes sense, how would the kernel know what semantics some random file system provided over a network, or in this case by a virtual machine host, implements.

Related to figuring out a way to test reliably, also on various more or less obscure virtual machine and file system cases, whether a directory is on a case-sensitive file system or not. Proof of concept, comments welcome:

I'm trying to learn Articulate Storyline 360 by taking a Corsera class. Since Storyline is Windows-based, I had to install Parellels on my iMac. I successfuly completed the first two modules.
