Anyone struggling with anxiety (like, who isn't?) ought to check out Paradoxical Intention. It's hardly news, and it's been around forever, but I recently read Viktor Frankl's book, _Man's Search for Meaning_ and this technique really piqued my interest. It provides a pretty simple mechanism for taking yourself less seriously, allowing for failure, and breaking the recursive anxiety cycle.

Paradoxical intention: The act of intentionally doing the thing you're afraid of to subvert your fear.

For example, if you're afraid of public speaking, you might intentionally say "I'm going to mess up" over and over again. This can help to desensitize you to your fear and make it less powerful.
