Despite many attempts to (re)switch to a desktop environment, One thing or the other fails to meet my requirements. Either it’s a bug or a workflow related one. #sway is the only stable WM i have experienced so far! I keep back coming to it.

Thanks to the amazing developers & the community behind it, Who gave me a viable choice.

At some point, I may move to #openSUSEway when all it’s minor issues are sorted out, so that i can focus on my work rather than spending time tweaking config here and there occasionally.

Was mach ich nach #openSUSE Leap? #ALP soll das nächste Ding werden.
Bin skeptisch. Keine Lust auf ein Flatpak, Appimage, wasauchimmer System.
:-/

I had some #Wayland related issues on #openSUSE #Tumbleweed for a while, where thinks like #swaylock or setting wallpaper in #sway just wouldn't work. After some investigation it seemed that a Wayland related package update would automagically fix the problem.

After procrastinating for weeks, I decided to run `zypper dup`, and reboot.

I have my wallpaper back. I have my lockscreen back. Nice :)
I now just hope that the #opensuseway project also works as intended: https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:OpenSUSEway

Last time I tried, i had some issues with the login screen (greetd?)

We had a followup talk at the @opensuse Conference about a full #Wayland Desktop Environment (DE) based on #sway. Find out more about #openSUSEway and how things have progressed. https://youtu.be/9dOjUs2LA6I
