Got a chance last weekend to see the film Primate in open captions, starring Troy Kotsur of CODA and Netflix's Black Rabbit. Props to him for taking on a horror B movie as a Deaf actor.

Verdict: Run of the mill Horror-B movie. Missed opportunties with having more ASL dialogue.

Wife at one point during the movie: "Seriously? They're not even going to just strategize on how to---OH MY GOD! Why did you let me watch this!?"

Ugh, so annoying when closed captions are positioned on top of open captions...

Which means I'll have to turn off my closed captions to be able to properly read one of them, or change my semi-transparent background to a solid one, and then switch it back again after that video for ones that don't have open captions...

There's so much text & emoji overlaid on those other videos that they are UNWATCHABLE.

It's so popular in fact, I don't want to hear another word about #OpenCaptions in movie theaters anymore.
