Oobleck by José Solé - Future Fonts

Inspired by the late 70’s and early 80’s covers of Frank Herbert’s Dune series, Oobleck is a psychedelic slab typeface, designed around circles as a key element. While Giorgio Giaiotto’s self-titled Giorgio font presented as an exciting starting point, Oobleck is a modern interpretation that has kept the funky style and interconnected playfulness, but made with attention to the curves, careful weight compensation, and an expansion of the character set beyond just uppercase characters. In future releases, the circle will balloon and be pushed to its limits to make additional weights, expanding the typographic reach and application of the design–so 👀 this space!
