today, I learned about the musical “Chess” from my youngest employee.

I can see why he recommends it so highly. This is *good*.

Caption: Day 3 of #OneGoodThing. Today, it’s about the intentionality in the workspace. Taking a moment to step back from the screen and appreciate the physical objects that inspire the digital ones. A fresh brew and a well-worn notebook go a long way. ☕️📓

What’s one physical object making your digital day better?

#OneGoodThing about there being shit all on the telly is that it means I have a perfect excuse (ha! Excuse?) to go into the bedroom and read.

And I’m on my own.
And it’s quiet.
And it’s #Discworld.

My #OneGoodThing (there were a few today 🥰) was seeing my old friend. We've been mates for almost 30 years now and neither of us could remember the last time we caught up. They're doing well and they have the cutest kitten and I can't wait to meet the little cutie 😁

#OneGoodThing about hiding from the cat in the bedroom is that I get to 'do work' while watching the Olympics.

Cat has been extremely annoying today, and no matter what I do (feeding, stroking), it doesn't seem to stop him.

And, of course, with the #WinterOlympics and #Curling, which I only ever seem to see at the Olympics, I always enjoy the shouts of 'Hard!' and 'Hurry!'

#onegoodthing

It's raining!

(I am enjoying this too much to think about other good things. 🙃)

I’ve missed a couple of #OneGoodThing posts.

So, spent some quality time with mum.

And reading time is coming up.

#Bookstodon

Today’s #OneGoodThing must be a multiple.

I travelled to Cambridge safely, ready for the conference After Section 28: LGBTQ+ Rights in an Age of Censorship and Backlash.
I went for a long walk to the river Cam, and ended up in a bookshop, where of course, I bought another #Discworld novel (Carpe Jugulum).
In 1997, I first moved to Cambridge - a lifetime ago, and stayed until 2000 after studying at Anglia Poly uni (now Anglia Ruskin).
I’m staying in a hotel near to where I used to work in a #Queer pub called the Five Bells. It’s been demolished 😭

So, today’s #OneGoodThing is that it’s almost reading time.

Today’s #OneGoodThing is actually two.

1. Went out for a morning #NordicWalk in the light rain and it was wonderful.

2. The delayed project from yesterday got started today. #AmEditing #Freelancing
