Hello,

I was wondering, do you know of or have any resources on #ondol-type floor heating systems?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ondol

I know it's #Korean, but there must be similar things in Japan?

You can guess that I'm thinking this could be a temporary solution (if they can make a little version with rubble and raw earth) for
- those who live in tents to stay out of the water
- to avoid breathing toxic fumes (from plastic burning)
- to make the most of the heat from the kitchen fire to heat at night and cold day

Ondol - Wikipedia

Did you know that hanok, traditional Korean houses, are built in harmony with nature, using wood, stone, and clay? Their unique floor-heating system, called ondol, keeps the home warm during cold winters. Today, many hanok are preserved as cultural heritage sites, while others are transformed into cozy cafés and guesthouses.

I finished booking all the accommodations.

A lot of 🇰🇷 websites return error codes or are extremely slow.

So when a place doesn't have hotels listed on Booking or similar services, the #NaverMaps smartphone app in English is a true life-saver. Sometimes you can book and pay directly through #naver

It even lists temples, though I don't dare to sleep there because I don't fully understand how that works. But I did book an #ondol room at a small pension.
