Until recently, I thought these were the same statue. Turns out one is in #MountHopeCemetery and the other in #BrightonCemetery, both in #RochesterNY. My guess is that they were both cast from the same (popular) mold.

In the 19th century, cemeteries functioned also as parks, and the most celebrated designer of parks was Frederick Law Olmsted. #MountHopeCemetery in Rochester NY is an #Olmsted classic. From a photo walk in 2014.
