Angaston Cemetery, Angaston, South Australia.
As the town of Angaston grew and the original cemetery became too small, twelve local citizens purchased four acres from Johann Gottfried Hanisch in 1867 to establish a new cemetery.
These men, among them Charles Holmes, James Jepson, and David Tavender, ran it as a private concern until the District Council of Angaston acquired it in 1911.
The cemetery has since remained a key historical and genealogical site for the region. Itโs now located at 302 Angaston Road, with thousands of memorials documented and photographed.
