Trump Administration Claims People With Disabilities Don't Have Right To Community-Based Services

The U.S. Department of Justice says states have no legal obligation to serve people with developmental disabilities in the community, a reversal that advocates say could have profound consequences.

Disability Scoop

The ADA passed in 1990. Thirty-five years later, accessible pedestrian infrastructure: curb cuts, audible signals, tactile warning strips, is still dramatically unevenly distributed across American cities.

The neighborhoods with the worst ADA compliance are not randomly distributed. They track neighborhood income and race closely.

Disability rights are not separate from infrastructure equity. They are central to it.

Introduction to creating accessible documents - TetraLogical

Digital documents and book files are a core part of our everyday communication. When documents aren’t accessible, they can exclude people with disabilities from integral learning, information, and content. Publishing accessible documents and book files ensures we can communicate the same information to people with disabilities, making this content accessible to everyone.
