For today's pixel art practice, I only used different shades of the same color. 7 colors, 16 × 16 pixels. #fuel #gasolina #shade #tono #objectDesign #orange #pixelart #ドット絵 @pixel_dailies
I started a sketch of my WIP illustrated novel's main character before she lost her memories. She only has one connection to her previous self. Something that is featured in that sketch and I couldn't quite continue on without having a design for it.

A brooch. An intricately worked and high calue brooch at that. But the symbolism of the brooch is in-universe religious and common enough that it isn't as big a clue to her past as she'd like.

As for those religious motifs:

- two moons - The world the story takes place in is orbited by two moons, which also feature in a variety of beliefs and mythology.
- two moon flowers - In religious iconography the moon sisters are often shown with moon flowers woven into their hair
- vines that bind - Moon flowers grow on vines, which are often used decoratively, but also re-inforce the familial ties motif.
- lunar tears - Since the moon sisters only see each other once every four years, the tears are interpreted in several ways, as happy tears for the reunion, or as sad tears knowing of the long upcoming absence of their respective twin

The twin moons are used in outside of religious iconography as well, a prominent example is the crest of the Order of Night Hounds.

Ko-fi

Just some fun little object design. I have a plastic case for my toothbrush that's sort of casket shaped and I think it would be way cooler if it were coffin shaped, don't you? 🦇🦇🦇
