Spent the day at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, watching the people of the city in all their colors, shapes, religions, and orientations wander and observe beauty and laugh and love and all I can think is...
How can anyone be afraid of this? This mad delightful polyglot of humanity is... threatening? HOW?
It's maddening and incomprehensible.
First visit from Balt โถ๏ธ NYC solo using the buses (cleaner and way more pleasant than flying without the TSA nonsense) and staying in a hostel (fine!)
Yesterday I went to the botanical gardens for the first time and it was worth the trip to the Bronx. The outdoor gardens look just a couple weeks from popping off.
#nyc I was hoping to catch the #nybg New York botanical gardens 2026 orchid show today.
NYBGโs indoor huge glass atrium, the Haupt Conservatory, is usually a colorful respite from the cold and a good spot to go for a walk with friends. (Even if I remain kinda mad at management there for working hard to cancel the much needed Fordham busway.)
But their ad campaign has me totally weirded out.
Can someone explain this to me - not an artist, a news consuming scientist?
Is right now the moment to promote a guy in a full on gas mask and dark glasses?
