Nursing is a vocation, and a hard one at that. Today nurses must undertake undergraduate training in most countries, like doctors and psychologists. Yet, they are still often underpaid, and the old funded training courses have largely been eradicated.

Perhaps it is because it is a traditionally woman dominated profession that this inequality exists, but it is also one that needs to be rectified. Nurses are the backbone and front line of healthcare.
