"This is what it looks like when power operates without accountability. Not with a villain twirling a mustache. With press releases and fast-track approvals and proprietary exemptions and a former state rep who just happened to be in the right place at the right time with the right connections."

I read and research news on #nuclear issues everyday. I can't tell you how many articles are published weekly proclaiming that some researcher or tech startup has found a way to eliminate 90% of nuclear waste with some magic solution, or that a new bacteria will turn nuclear waste into gold.
The industry has so many PR professionals, and there are countless NukeBros boosting the bullshit as part of their crypto or AI fantasies.
Thinks it’s clever to name his company after "Onkalo”
TechBro cleverness fail
Fuck that shit, and these Bozos:
"Sam Altman’s nuclear energy company Oklo plunges 54% in NYSE debut"
Open access:
"World leaders are not unaware of the nuclear industry’s long history of failing to deliver on its promises, or of its weakening vital signs. Yet many continue to act as if a 'nuclear renaissance' could be around the corner even though #nuclear energy’s share of global electricity generation has fallen by almost half from its high of roughly 17 percent in 1996."
For some hot takes on nuclear power, look no further than Jack Devanney's substack.
Devanney is the principal engineer and architect of the ThorCon molten salt reactor power plant, and he's not holding his breath waiting for US regulators to get their shit together.
