Is there going to be a New Oxford Annotated Bible with the NRSV Updated Edition? Trying to decide whether I want to wait for that, go with the already-released SBL Study Bible, or just get a plain NRSVue sans study materials… #Bible #NRSV #NRSVue ⚓️

Maybe I'm #lazy nowadays but if I want to get the #lectionary reading I'm probably just going to get it from #Vanderbilt seminary https://lectionary.library.vanderbilt.edu/ ... Although TBH I prefer #niv and I think #vandy is #nrsv ... Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Incidentally, I like what I've seen so far of the updated #NRSV. I think I'll get one when it's out in large print (my eyes have decided that they are definitely middle aged now, so no 9-point font for me).

Story Time:

I taught kid's #SundaySchool yesterday & we talked about David & Goliath.

My #Bible translation (#NRSV) says Goliath was 6 cubits, with has a note saying other translations say 4. That puts Goliath between 6 & 9 feet tall.

I told my kids for comparison that Goliath would be about Shaq's height. Which then led to a rabbit hole of pics for my 11 year old of #Shaq side by side with other people.

Kids are fun.
