Pickpocket uses bizarre technique to steal victim’s phone | Flipboard

A Nottingham street thief was caught on CCTV using a bizarre dance to distract a victim before stealing his mobile phone. The pickpocket approached a man in Clumber Street just after 7:30am on 16 November. He greeted the man with a fist bump and engaged in conversation before dancing and placed one of his legs between the victim’s legs and jumped up and down. Police believe the thief pretended to be drunk to trick the victim into thinking he was just in a cheerful mood. "It’s a cynical attempt to distract attention away from the victim’s pockets, where the pick-pocketing is happening," Inspector Paul Gummer said. Anyone who recognises the man officers are seeking to trace in connection with the incident is asked to call 101 quoting crime number 25000672372.

Late 80's early 90's Fridays used to be:

Meet up with mates in town at opening time - 7pm.
Chuck a quick couple down before getting the bus into Nottingham.
Try not to wet yourself before arrival.
Run to the nearest pub - usually the Peacock, sometimes Old Boots.
A quick pub crawl around Trinity Sq.
Finish off at Rock City.

Happy times.

BiCon 2025 will be in Nottingham, non-residential, Fri 25 to Sun 27 July 2025 - same weekend as Notts Pride which is on the Saturday.

BiCon venue will be the Girls' High School, not far from the Arboretum or the Forest. I don't expect it'll be full-on covid-careful but I'm sure there'll be numerous people wearing masks. I'll probably go to at least part of it.

BiCon is open to bi-friendly non-bi people too!
