Just heard about the passing of legendary #NoNewYork scenester scronk jazz pioneer sax frontman of James White and the Blacks aka #JamesChance and the #Contortions. They laid down an angular blend odd of skittish post punk rock jazz influenced by James Brown , Miles & Coltrane. I got some decent audio / video of his 2017 West Coast farewell tour show at the Knockout in SF
