【コラム】 Wrong Way Up と『The Beach...
Fanno giustamente notare su RYM* che l'autunno del 1975, cinquant'anni fa, lo dominava Brian Eno, avendo fatto uscire in rapida successione, tra novembre e dicembre, «Another Green World», «Discreet Music» e «Evening Star» (con Fripp, quest'ultimo). Così, giusto per dire wow.

Ended the week and welcomed the weekend with Decay Music the 1976 debut album by Michael Nyman, released on Brian Eno's Obscure Records music label. The two works on the album, "1-100" (composed 1 December 1975) and "Bell Set No. 1" (1974) are both built around the musical concept of decay. Both of these experiment with percussive, long decay musical forms. "1-100" is played at half the speed it was recorded. It was written for Peter Greenaway's film of the same title but rejected because it was too long. It was inspired by Frederic Rzewski's Les Moutons de Panurge, which Nyman often played with the Scratch Orchestra. - Wikipedia

Ezra Klein interviews Brian Eno about art. What it is, why it's important and how we interact with it.
Separately, Eno has a new album which 'dropped' today, a collaboration with Beatie Wolfe called Liminal.

Brian Eno & Beatie Wolfe (2025)
Released today, this is a sweet collection of #BrianEno and #BeatieWolfe 'nongs' (something in between a song and non-song). Ambient-like, relaxing and adventurous and challenging music at the same time. Love it!
