If you have any ideas, please speak up. I just want to scoop out a flat bottomed hole in a foam board so I can set a wooden board into it. I could use a plunge router, except that's messy.
I see conflicting reports on epoxy's temperature rating. One web site says 1500℉ (800℃), another says 400℉ (200℃). If epoxy can handle the temperature, I could simply epoxy-pot a nichrome strip in a board. Something like this. (Quick sketch, not to scale.)
Does anyone here have any experience cutting foam with nichrome wire that is bent? I'd like to make something like this to cut pockets in some foam board insulation. But for maybe about 1/10th the price.
