As a person just starting with astrology, or maybe even being sceptical about it, you must ask yourself many questions. Like “is this real”? “,” Does it work? " It’s hard to believe that some stars and planets dictate our entire existence and what happens to us. Well, they don’t. Astrology, just like many other nieche topics, especially surrounding spirituality, became pretty disliked and stereotyped, especially after Christianity and other historical events. Even tho it used to be a pretty huge science back in the days! It is of upmost importance to clarify that mainstream pop astrology based on singular zodiac signs (like Scorpio, virgo, aries {sun}), or “guess my big 3!” or “Scorpios are the worst zodiac sign!”, have really so little to do with REAL astrology. You could say that it’s barely a very poorly represented tip of an iceberg of what astrology really is. My favorite argument against astrology is “how is this possible there’s only 12 types of people on earth?” (Due to there being 12 zodiac signs). There isn’t. Every person does have all 12 zodiac signs. Now You must be confused! I know. Let me redifine for you what astrology really is, because oh boy, there sure is a lot of misunderstanding out there. ASTROLOGY FOR BEGINNERS: Structure of astrology: All You need to know as a begginer, is that there is 3 parts to basic astrology reading. Every person has a so called astrological/natal chart. That chart is made out of 3 things: 12 zodiac signs, 12 houses and planets. Houses are the degrees in which the zodiac and planets fall in someone’s chart. They are like grids on a circle, seperations. All houses have some sort of a meaning to them, like outside persona, home/family, relationships, career (Not to be taken too literally, were talking basics of basics here). Planets are literally where each planet will fall on the moment of, for example, Your birth. Planets like sun, moon, Saturn, Mars, etc. Every planet has profound and nuanced meaning in astrology. With this, you get 3 things You need in order to do a very basic astrological reading. Houses are areas of life, zodiacs are the flavours of it, and planets are particular lessons in those areas. I know it’s a lot to wrap your head around! And the best part, is that it never ends! Astrology is an extremely complex study, contrary to what it’s being presented as in mainstream media or what it represents in People’s minds. Even what I mentioned is somehow still tip of an iceberg, and mastering, and really understanding basic things like houses, zodiacs or planets can take more than years. It’s a lifelong study for many people. Non the less, it is extremely fascinating. Astrology is full of various, complex techniques, that range from day to months to years, to life time, relationships correlations, locational and bunch more! There’s also a lot of sources and traditions of astrology that can range dramatically. We have astrology from Europe, but also a completely different system of astrology from India, which derived from spirituality and other Indian traditions. We have to understand that astrology was not always derived from astrology itself but from many different conclusions and spiritual and scientific accomplishments, and not just for the purpose of reading life from stars. Most importantly, astrology is not merely a way of “predicting future” or making money of people. It is a tool of analysis and energetical tendency of an individual, not a set in stone rule book of how your life will turn out. In fact, it has an immense potential of showing you your strengths and weaknesses which can have profound affect on how you choose to act in your life. This post is not made to convince anyone of astrology, but rather to shed light on how much more complex it is than it appears in mainstream. Of course, it is always adviced to keep caution, not get unhealthily obsessed with astrology, beware of your sources of study and professionals You choose to work with! That being said, I am just as annoyed by shallow pop astrology and uneducated zodiac obsessed people than anyone else!
