ink and yarnEvery time one of the niblings sends me a text (google chat, whatever) with something they've drawn/written, or thought about, or a cool app they've found, I am just so darn pleased with the relationship we're building.
I loved my aunts and uncles, when I was the age the kids are now. But I wasn't *close* to them, even the ones I saw regularly.
I wanted to be a different kind of aunt to my niblings, and here I am doing just that. I take this job very seriously and it's gratifying to see my investment paying dividends.

I know the basics of sewing (okay, maybe I know a few of the intermediates - I'm a terrible judge of my own skills) but I've always wanted to get better. So when YouTube "helpfully" started providing me with videos of people sewing zipper pouches like it was the easiest thing in the world, I got it in my head that I wanted to try it for myself.
I'm a sucker for pretty fabrics, and I needed to give Chanukah gifts to the niblings... So they got zipper pouches :)
