I am laughing at my latest nerdery.

Background: I'm an over-thinker, a former re-enactor, and a gamer who's recently levelled up to 'comfortable gaming', ie snuggled in an armchair with a PS4 handset.

So, I'm very new to console gaming and my first proper purchased game is Red Dead Redemption 2 #rdr2 after reading so many positive reviews.

I have just caught myself about to look up how authentic are the weapons to the America of 1899, the game's stated date.

Note to self: it's the gaming stats that matter - you know this from all the fantasy MMORPG games you played!

Primordial Pouch - lol - is the loose stretchy skin on the underside of cats - from domestic to tiger.

It permits the enormous extended stride of the cheetah, the aerobatic hunting leap of the serval ... and the funny 'hover cushion' (family term) of our flexible furry friends :)

It's time for another #NerdOut !

Following my Toot about the #QuarterDays & the long-standing custom of rent payments, today is one of the 4 #CrossQuarterDays.

These fall between the Quarter Days and tend to indicate the start of seasons.

Today is #Imbolc (ewe milk) for lambing & the start of (Northern hemisphere) Spring. Yesterday was Brigid/St Brides Day in Ireland, and today in the US is #GroundhogDay :)
ETA: Today is also the Christian festival of Candlemas.

Back in the early 2000s I was proof-reading commercial leases: office space & small businesses including many fish & chip shops.

I had to make my own fun to maintain focus (fish & chip shop names aside). I soon learned that almost all these modern business leases stated that rent was to be paid quarterly - fair enough, I thought. But:
