Book recommendation: 1813 Kriegsfeuer and 1815 Blutfrieden, a series of two books by German author Sabine Ebert. About the Napoleonic war with the main focus on der Völkerschlacht bei Leipzig in 1813. These are among the best books I've read. Fictional story but most characters are people who existed at the time, and a few fictional characters woven in to the historic events.
