3. For his service he was appointed to the Dutch Order of Wilhelm and of the Russian Order of St. Vladimir. Henry died at La Vacherie, France on 7th December, 1816 of wounds received at Waterloo age 35 and is buried in St. Mary’s Churchyard, Storrington, Sussex.

2. He purchased a lieutenancy in January 1801. Then he was appointed aide-de-camp a personal assistant to a person of high rank to the Earl of Chatham John Pitt Earl of Chatham. He saw service in the Peninsular War at the battles of Corunna, Salamance, Vittoria, The Pyrenees, Nivelle, Orthes, and Toulouse.
At Waterloo Henry was an assistant to the Quarter Master General. Attached to the 1st Regiment of Foot Guards, he was severely wounded. #history #battleofwaterloo

Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Henry Hollis Bradford KCB, was born in 1781, Woodlands, Doncaster. He was the son of Thomas Bradford and Elizabeth Otter.
He original ensign in the 1st West Militia. He then ensign without purchase which meant he avoided waiting to be promoted for merit of seniority in the 4th Foot King's Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster) on 6th November 1801. #history #battleofwaterloo
