Since I put together some relatively easy flute-y lines in a few tracks on "Descends," I've started to try to figure out how to play them with my actual #flute.
Here's a snippet from "Descends I (memory)" that I re-recorded today with the real flute. You can hear me struggle to slide from D# to C# without hitting the D in between, but overall I think it sounds good.
Just a touch of reverb to meld it into everything else and you'd hardly know it was re-recorded:
Dang, I'm *really* enjoying this flute. There's so much to learn (and practice), but I thought it would be much more of a struggle to get to the point of playing simple melodies or noodling in a scale.
Thanks so much to everyone who gave me advice or encouraged me when I was deliberating over the idea, I'm so glad I decided to do it!

Here is a track I created for the 631st #NaviarHaiku Music Challenge. I feel like I came up with a song that responds directly the prompt poem in an obvious way by combining βdustyβ pad layers with βchirpyβ synths to represent the bird taking a dust bath.

Flute update! After struggling a bit with getting sound of of some notes, I figured that there must be some damaged pads. I took it to a local woodwind repair person, who was able to give it a full maintenance service as well as replace the damaged pads. They said it is in great shape and should be very easy to play!
I got it back yesterday, and they weren't lying, this thing is fun!
