You know, when you think about it, practically every symphony orchestra is a cover band, and nobody busts their chops about it.

A few years ago I was horrified to see a young girl wearing an Arctic Monkeys t-shirt. After the first album, I could have eagerly bought an Arctic Monkeys t-shirt. After the second album, I'd still wear it. After the third album I'd take it out of rotation. After the fourth album I'd have ceremonially burned it.
Loving #FontainesDC's first album.

The second album… not so much. Putting off giving the third a spin, for fear that my heart will be broken yet again.
There's a tendency among bands who make it big with their first album which I call "regression to Oasis". Each subsequent album becomes an increasingly anodyne, Brit-poppy pale carbon copy of the last. What makes it worse is that the artists apparently sincerely see this as an increase in sophistication.
💯
Confession: When it first came out I spent $26 ($138.62 in today's dollar 😳) and it was such a huge leap from his previous albums that I hated it so much I actually returned it!
I've since ("Live In Australia probably contributed) changed my mind and love it.
What's your top 3 songs from it?
