#fotovorschlag Himmelssturmers. Himmelssturmer literally means "storming the heavens" and is used to describe someone with revolutionary, world-altering ideas or plans. This photo shows three of those revolutionary figures. In the foreground is a statue of Nelson Mandela, who brought an end to apartheid in South Africa through a peaceful transition. Behind them, the mural (Karskey & Beyond) at the Omniversum in The Hague depicts two young people fighting for a better world. A few years ago, I started photographing the murals in my city. There are more than 600!

While it was a really fun endeavor, it was also a time guzzler. (I even had 15 minutes of fame with interviews on national television and location radio stations) After almost 300 photographed murals, I had to stop. The pandemic also played a major role in this decision.
