#GoodMorrows: It's crackly thursday, and yesterday's battle with #Vodacom continues. You call the customer service that calls itself Upgrade/Cancellation department. You tell them the whole story, they ask a squekload of security question which I can understand, supposedly to prevent fraud, but they are fraudsters themselves. Then when all these questions are done, they ask you why you want to cancel, and no matter which answer you give, the only answer they give is, let me help you with a different contract. We don't want a contract, we want to cancel because we can't afford your contracts and we don't like your auto-expiration of data after 30 days even if no data was used. That we didn't tell them but it's one of the reasons we want to route to CapitecConnect instead, because airtime and data can be set not to expire. They give an expiry date option, and you can click on never, and it doesn't expire. Anyway, they said they'll put us through to the cancellation department, and then they dropped the call. I thought they were the upgrade/cancellation department, so what other cancellation department now again, and then again a load of security questions for nothing. People, if you make use of #Vodacom or #MTN services in this country, be aware that cancellation is no longer an option. They make as if it is, but the contract you sign will bind you for life. You will never get out of it until the day you die, and after that, your children, **if you have any** which I don't, will still be bound to said contract. If you can avoid signing any contract with a mobile service provider or even an ISP in #SouthAfrica, avoid it like the plague it is. You cannot cancel, they'll just try to offer you cheaper solutions, but in this case, should my mom die at some point, as she's the main holder of this contract, then suddenly I'm in legal trouble because I can't pay said contract simply because I have not the account information. Crackly thursday, MurderousMarch, and cheating organizations is what the world has come to. That, is what capitalism gave you in the long run. The rich live off the spoils of the middle-class and poor, and they don't give a fuck because they have monopoly over you, either through some or other contract on your mobile service, or your internet service, or if you use other squekery, know that you're bound for life. That is all! Now I'll go away. Wexsi and my Jumbo quails give me much more joy than this lying, stealing, murdering, cheating world can. At least I'm only responsible for their food and water, and some care. But the end result is that we all get what we need. I get some lovin' from my pets, they get regular foodstuffs and petting from me. Mutual trust. No murdering, cheating, or lying. Dogs are the most honest things in the world, and with them it's only yes or no. There's no maybe, or perhaps. I have 3 cats, but their purpose is to kill snakes and rats on the farm...and I wouldn't know if a cat can be dishonest as I don't get much to do with them. Anyway, try to have fun on an electric sparking Thursday, in the middle of murderousMarch. See you whenever. I have no idea whenever that might be. I don't currently have work to do so I don't see the reason to remain at the pc...just going back to bed. Maybe I can fall under a rock and never hear anything about the world again. Forget about radio/tv/internet/whatever other squek there is...throw mobile phones into the pit of hell where they belong.
