Today drive in Montreal reminded me of a scene in a French movie called "Le Salaire de la Peur" where the protagonists had a drive a truck full of nitroglycerine over a very bumpy road.
Word. Class. City. Where dirt roads are of better quality.

So these racist cops in Montreal Nord where "reassigned"? So in short they are spreading racism around.
That is systemic racism.
There are more than 5,000 visibly unhoused people in Montréal...
~$50M, over the next 2 years, may reduce those who are visibly unhoused, but it's not enough.
It works out to approximately 7500$ per visibly unhoused person, but it doesn't do anything for the precariously perched, READ: not VISIBLY UNHOUSED, etc.
How will approximately 7500$ per visibly unhoused person even make a dent in their circumstances?

Montreal Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada has announced that over the next two years, close to $50 million dollars will be spent to reduce homelessness in Montreal. About $20 million will be divided between various boroughs where the problem is acute. A further $29 million will go to frontline community groups that work with unhoused people. These McGill experts can comment: Pearl Eliadis, Associate Professor (professional), Faculty of Law and Chair of the Quebec Homelessness Prevention Collaborative (a collaboration with the Max Bell School of Public Policy), Max Bell School of Public Policy, Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism can speak about comprehensive legal reforms being proposed by the Quebec Homelessness Prevention Collaborative. These are designed to move away from the current crisis-response mode toward a better co-ordinated approach focused on prevention. Québec relies too heavily on rebuilding roads after they have significantly deteriorated rather than investing in preventive maintenance that could extend pavement life and avoid more expensive repairs later...

More than 50 per cent of Quebec’s roads are now in poor condition, and the province faces a road infrastructure maintenance deficit approaching $30 billion, according to a coalition of industry groups, researchers, business organizations and road-user representatives. The Coalition for Better Roads in Quebec unveiled five recommendations Tuesday aimed at slowing the deterioration of […]
I'll believe it when I see it.
A véloroute will be built within the slipstream of the #REM, which connects to 16 stations linking Montréal, Laval, the North Shore and the West Island, spanning at least 38 kilometres and link to existing bike paths as well as industrial parks and nature parks, like Cap St-Jacques, les Bois-de-l’Île Bizard and the future Grand parc de l’Ouest.

I doubt that Montréal's population is on the decline... unless you're talking about all the #CAQ policies against women, fabric, religion, people who speak more than French only, etc., etc., etc.

According to Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, MY borough, : « Le grand ménage de printemps tire à sa fin… et nos équipes ont été pleinement mobilisées pour mener à bien cette opération. »
