Decades ago, Vancouver was obsessed with monkey puzzle trees. Can you really blame them? You can find them all over the city and people make maps of their locations. I've never seen this one on a map though. It's secret.

This plant was left on my doorstep this morning and I've asked around but no idea where it has come from. A neighbour is a botanist and she is away... But wondering if it might be a #MonkeyPuzzle tree sapling. Will plant it up in a pot and see ..but .. if it is one of those will get huuuuge! More information on #Bunyabunya pines. There are a few of them on the Monterey Peninsula, but not much is known about them around here. I imagine they were brought here during the days when whaling and sealing ships docked here, so they may be part of the town's seafaring history.
