Well, spouse's vacation is over today so it's back to the usual schedule for both of us.
Got up, made/ate breakfast, washed up, threw on not-leaving-the-property clothes (sweatshirt and sweatpants, it's only in the low 60s (F) right now). Went outside to tend to plants and bird feeders.
Watered everything that wants water. Checked on my hens and chicks and OMG they're so happy in their cactus soil! Every one of them has already started sending out new growth. I didn't realize they could grow that quickly.
Setting the lettuce planter up off the ground seems to have worked; I see no signs of anything trying to get to them overnight. Yay.
Got inspired, grabbed the lopper tool, and hacked down some unwanted large plants: a thistle, I think, in the black raspberry patch alongside the house by the water spigot, and more of that giant burdock lurching out from under the south-side privet hedge. BEGONE, I SAY.
And lo, they were gone.
