The #MinstrelShow is the first uniquely American form of theatre and began in the 1830s as intermission acts. In 1843 on #ThisDayInHistory the first dedicated show opened in #NYC. These shows involved #blackface actors performing viciously #racist stereotypes for white amusement.

@Yehuda Apparently this guy Emmanuel Acho is a very close equivalent to LakotaMan1. So many parallels.

They know what White people want to feel good about & have nailed the steriotypes that get money & praise from White people. While ignoring factual information & making themselves self-appointed representatives for Non-White people who actively do not want to be represented that way.

These self-appointed representatives earn $$ that way while directing rage & self hatred at their own communities of origin.

There are many more Indigenous people like this that are too numerous to mention. They are a dangerous attack on our cultural integrity because they are upheld & funded over our legitimate actual cultures & histories. They silence our real histories & cultures. They are blackface brownface minstrel shows for the white gaze.

We need the have the equivalent conversation about the "emotional butlers to White people" type of Indigenous people like LakotaMan1 & others who cater to exclusively White audiences & White funders. & they fetishize & alienate the communities they came from.

I'm happy to rant at length in person or via any medium on this topic. (Making a YouTube video is way too much trouble, but still I enjoy these philosophical analysis conversations on cultural representation & cultural integrity.)

This lady in this video is great, & right on target. Watch this video, it is spicy, in a good way.
