Mikoshi procession of Autumn Festival.

#shrine #mikoshi #祭り #神輿

Today the whole day #Matsuri here at my little local shrine. 2h preparation now and then 5h walking around with the #Mikoshi later.
#mikoshi (Japanese: #神輿 is a sacred religious palanquin (also translated as portable Shinto shrine). Shinto followers believe that it serves as the vehicle to transport a deity in Japan while moving between main shrine and temporary shrine during a festival or when moving to a new shrine. Often, the mikoshi resembles a miniature building, with pillars, walls, a roof, a veranda and a railing.

I left the house for #Mikoshi carrying ceremony today at 5:45. I came back at 21:00

What a day! But I met a lot of people and spoke a lot of Japanese. Good day.
