Congratulations to those who participated in the 2025 #Melbourne Marathon today #melbmara

For what's it worth, it turns out that Melbourne knows how to run sporting events with 10-20K participants and another 20K supporters, no problems.

The cell network handled it, the tracker app handled it, the volunteer course management staff handled it, the surrounding businesses were all active participants and more than handled it (with extra staff, earlier opening hours, special deals for participants, etc).

And the finish lap inside the #MCG is a treat for the runners.

I've been to quite a few of these globally significant participation events and Melbourne did good when many/most others struggle.

Anyone got a spare ticket to the Melbourne Marathon?

I signed up too early last year, got injured and couldn't get a refund. This year they sold out Months early and I missed out.

They allow resell through Tixel, surely someone has done a hammy, pulled a groin, knackered their knobblies, fskd up their feets?
