Maxtang MAX-N100 is an Intel N100 mini PC with an integrated power supply
Mini PCs may be small computers that don’t take up a lot of space on your desk. But some models ship with rather large power adapters, which kind of ruins the effect by taking up a fair amount of space below your desk (or wherever you run the power cables).
A handful of mini PC makers have been tackling this by putting an internal power supply inside the case, which means you only need to run a cable from the back of the PC to your AC outlet – no adapter required. Beelink’s EQi12, EQ13, and EQ14 were some of the first I’d seen. But the new Maxtang MAX-N100 Mini PC is another model that features an integrated power supply.
Available now from AliExpress or the Maxtang website, the little computer features an Intel N100 processor, a single SODIMM slot with support for up to 16GB of DDR4 memory, and two M.2 2280 slots for storage: one with support for PCIe 3.0 x4 SSDs and another with PCIe 3.0 x1 support.
There’s also an M.2 2230 slot populated by a WiFi 5 & Bluetooth card.
Ports include:
- 2 x HDMI 2.0
- 3 x USB 3.2
- 1 x USB 2.0
- 1 x 3.5mm audio
- 2 x Gigabit Ethernet
It’s not hard to find a mini PC with those features these days, but the MAX-N100 stands out as one of only a few models with a built-in 45W power supply, which saves a little space.
Despite the integrated PSU, the mini PC is pretty small, measuring just 120 x 120 x 35.5mm (4.72″ x 4.72″ x 1.4″). There’s also a fan inside the chassis for active cooling.
A Maxtang MAX-N100 with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage sells for $338 at AliExpress, but it’s on sale for $169 at the Maxtang website for the next two weeks. The list price seems a bit high for an Intel N100 mini PC in late 2024, but the sale price is pretty reasonable.
