Il Tempo: Decide Havertz, Arsenal corsaro sul campo dello Sporting Lisbona
LISBONA (PORTOGALLO) (ITALPRESS) – L'Arsenal non brilla, ma esce dall'Alvalade col miglior risultato possibile. La formazione di Arteta riesce ad imporsi per 1-0 sullo Sporting Lisbona nel match d'andata dei quarti di finale di Champions League. Il gol degli inglesi arriva solo nel finale, grazie alla zampata vincente di Havertz. In generale, non una prova indimenticabile da parte dei Gunners, salvati in più occasioni da un Raya in grande spolvero. Troppo impreciso, invece lo Sporting in zona gol. Le emozioni del primo tempo sono tutte concentrate nel quarto d'ora iniziale, dove le due squadre colpiscono una traversa per parte. E' dello Sporting il primo sussulto del match: dopo il lancio millimetrico dalla difesa di Diomande, Araujo si ritrova davanti a Raya, ma il portiere spagnolo, grazie ad un provvidenziale riflesso, riesce a deviare il tiro dell'avversario sul montante. Al 15′, invece, è Madueke a colpire il legno direttamente da calcio d'angolo: il successivo tentativo di Odgaard termina fuori di pochissimo. Per rivedere una concreta occasione da gol bisogna aspettare il 57′, quando Trincao da buona posizione strozza troppo la sua conclusione, spedendo la palla sul fondo. L'Arsenal allora risponde alzando i giri del motore: al 63′, però, la gioia del gol per gli inglesi viene spenta sul nascere. A causa, infatti, della posizione di fuorigioco del grande ex Gyokeres, autore dell'assist, la rete dalla distanza di Zubimendi viene annullata dall'arbitro Siebert. Nel finale sono i padroni di casa a cercare il gol con maggiore insistenza. Al 83′ Raya è ancora una volta decisivo per salvare la porta degli inglesi: su cross di Suarez, Catamo colpisce di testa sul primo palo, trovando però la pronta risposta del portiere spagnolo. La partita sembra ormai indirizzata sullo 0-0, ma proprio nel finale emerge la qualità dell'Arsenal che, con grande cinismo, si porta a casa la vittoria, grazie ai nuovi entrati Havertz e Martinelli. Nasce tutto al 91′ da un'iniziativa del brasiliano che pennella in area di rigore per l'inserimento del compagno tedesco che, da due passi, insacca. LISBON (PORTUGAL) (ITALPRESS) – Arsenal doesn’t shine, but exits Alvalade with the best possible result. Arteta’s team manages to prevail 1-0 against Sporting Lisbon in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final. The English goal arrives only at the end, thanks to Havertz’s decisive touch. Generally, not an unforgettable performance by the Gunners, saved in several occasions by a Raya in great form. Too inaccurate, instead, was Sporting in attacking area. The emotions of the first half were all concentrated in the initial quarter of an hour, where both teams hit the crossbar on each side. It was Sporting who initiated the match’s first surge: after Diomande’s millimeter pass from defense, Araujo finds himself one-on-one with Raya, but the Spanish goalkeeper, thanks to a providential reflex, manages to deflect the opponent’s shot onto the crossbar. At the 15′, it was Madueke who hit the woodwork directly from a corner: the subsequent attempt by Odgaard ended just outside by a little. To see a concrete goal opportunity, you had to wait until the 57′, when Trincao, from a good position, choked his shot, sending the ball into the net. Arsenal then responded by increasing the engine’s speed: at 63′, however, the English’s joy of scoring is extinguished at its inception. This is due to the offside position of the former Gyokeres, who was the author of the assist, the Zubimendi distance goal is canceled by referee Siebert. LEVERKUSEN (GERMANIA) (ITALPRESS) – L'Arsenal sbatte sul muro difensivo del Bayer Leverkusen e solo nel finale agguanta il pareggio. Alla BayArena, l'1-1 finale sa di beffa per il Leverkusen che, nonostante le numerose assenze, era riuscito a reggere l'urto dei Gunners, grazie ad una prova difensiva quasi perfetta. Dopo il gol su sviluppo di corner di Andrich in apertura di secondo tempo, all'89' è l'ex Havertz su rigore a salvare Arteta e i compagni dal ko. Con questo pareggio l'Arsenal interrompe così il proprio percorso sin qui netto all'interno della competizione (otto vittorie nella League Phase). Sin dai primi minuti, l'Arsenal prende le redini del possesso palla, mentre il Leverkusen predilige una partita prettamente d'attesa. Dopo l'improvvisa folata offensiva, i tedeschi si rintanano nuovamente nella propria metà campo. L'Arsenal fatica terribilmente a costruire azioni offensive e gioca con poca intensità. LEVERKUSEN (GERMANY) (ITALPRESS) – Arsenal hit a defensive wall against Bayer Leverkusen and only grabs a draw at the end. At the BayArena, the 1-1 final score feels like a cruel joke for Leverkusen, which, despite numerous absences, had managed to withstand the Gunners’ onslaught thanks to almost perfect defensive play. After Andrich’s goal from a developing corner at the start of the second half, Havertz, the former player, saved Arteta and his teammates from defeat with a penalty in the 89th minute. With this draw, Arsenal thus ends its previously spotless run within the competition (eight wins in the League Phase). From the first minutes, Arsenal took control of possession, while Leverkusen preferred a purely waiting game. The Aspirines still managed to get two shots on goal before with Kofane, then with Maza. The best chance of the first half, however, belonged to Arsenal at the 19th minute. At the 46th minute, on the corner subsequently kicked by Grimaldo, Andrich was completely forgotten by the visiting defense and managed to score undisturbed 1-0, hitting on the second post with his head. After the sudden offensive burst, the Germans retreated back into their own half. Arsenal terribly struggled to build offensive actions and played with little intensity. Only with an incident were the English able to turn around their bad evening. In the 86th minute, Muler awarded a generous penalty, following the contact between Tilman and Madueke. Havertz, the great former player, took the penalty and scored 1-1, despite Blaswich’s near save. Chiamatela farsa, vergogna, imbarazzo, pagliacciata. Come volete. Sono tutti termini adatti per definire quanto sta continuando a portare avanti il Trapani Shark di Valerio Antonini nel corso delle ultime settimane. Dopo aver giocato solo 7 minuti in Champions League contro l’Hapoel Holon – in una figuraccia in mondovisione ripresa da tantissimi quotidiani sportivi internazionali – la società trapanese ne ha giocati soltanto quattro in campionato contro Trento al Pala Shark. Solo sette giocatori a disposizione, di cui solo tre professionisti – Rossato, Pugliatti e Sanogo – e quattro ragazzi delle giovanili: due già purtroppo protagonisti della farsa in Bulgaria (Patti e Martinelli) e altri due esordienti, Giacalone e Alberti.
Tre 18enni e un 16enne – tutti con lo scotch sulle maglie a coprire il nome del precedente compagno che l’ha indossata – che forse in un triste sabato sera per il basket italiano avrebbero preferito fare altro anziché farsi umiliare da una società che ora ha sulle spalle una penalizzazione di 10 punti in classifica, arrivati da quattro diversi provvedimenti da parte della giustizia sportiva (ieri l’ultimo). Riguardo i pochi giocatori che risultano ancora sotto contratto, erano assenti Cappelletti (squalificato), Notae (infortunato), Arcidiacono e Petrucelli. Il copione è sempre lo stesso: prima si rimane in quattro, poi in tre, poi in due. Poi la sospensione.
Trapani non era già scesa in campo una settimana fa, sul campo della Virtus Bologna, prendendo anche una multa di 50mila euro. Alla prossima rinuncia sarà esclusione dal campionato. Intanto in ogni partita, per ogni giocatore in meno rispetto ai dodici contratti professionistici obbligatori, Trapani viene sanzionata con 50mila euro di multa: contro Trento saranno dunque 250mila euro totali. E la farsa continua.

It’s all fitting terms to describe what Valerio Antonini’s Trapani Shark has continued to push forward over the last few weeks. After playing only 7 minutes in the Champions League against Hapoel Holon – in a humiliating display viewed worldwide by countless international sports newspapers – the Trapani-based club played only four in the league against Trento at the Pala Shark. Only seven players available, of which only three were professionals – Rossato, Pugliatti, and Sanogo – and four young players from the youth teams: two unfortunately already protagonists of the farce in Bulgaria (Patti and Martinelli) and two debutants, Giacalone and Alberti.
Three 18-year-olds and a 16-year-old – all with tape covering the names of the previous players who wore the shirt – who perhaps on a sad Saturday evening for Italian basketball would have preferred to do something else than be humiliated by a club that now has a 10-point penalty in the standings, stemming from four different rulings by the sports justice system (yesterday’s was the last). Trapani hadn’t even stepped onto the court a week ago, at Virtus Bologna, and was also fined 50,000 euros. The next refusal will result in exclusion from the championship.
