Forgot to make a note of the page count yesterday after formatting my WIP for the paperback version, so while I'm waiting for Word to work it out again (really? The file hasn't changed - couldn't you have stuck a fragment of metadata somewhere? 🙄) so I can create a cover template, I'm here twiddling my thumbs.
It's the weekend. In one respect a meaningless concept, since I'm retired, but I find I need at least a couple of anchor points in the week or else I'll never know what day it is. So we like to treat it as something other than "just another day".
With that in mind, that template creation will be the only "work" I do today. I'm not in the right frame of mind to start wrangling with GIMP, and we're off out to lunch with friends in a few hours anyway, so it'll be lawn mowing, shower, and a bit of mild gaming before that, and then later the camp-fest of the Eurovision Song Contest, which for the last few years I've viewed in the virtual company of a small group of online friends where the banter means I often can't even see the acts through tears of laughter.
Word has finally delivered its verdict: 434 pages. Off I go...
