Another nice thing about Local: wp-cli is built in. #WordPress #WPCLI #LocalWP

I noted:

and

- #LocalWP : https://localwp.com/
Easy to use on Linux :)
I experiment some bugs on Linux.

Managed to get my laptop working again. Turns out that newer versions of #LocalWP require a version of glibc that #Ubuntu 20.04 does not provide. And since installation only worked directly through dpkg, dependency checks were probably not done.

Upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04 to fix it, so I'm now only three years behind. Nice to see the wallpaper I contributed to 22.04, but I'll do a fresh install of 24.04 soon.

@pmmueller FunFact. In dem Artikel auf WordPres.org wird #Localwp von #wpengine empfohlen.

Just deleted #LocalWP since Playground (online) and Studio (macOS) are sufficient for me.

Thanks for the article @thatmitchcanter using #LocalWP was easy for updating 2 sites that I have on Flywheel. If I had more, I would have done the other approach (WPackagist and Composer) but for 2 #wordpress sites Local + local plugin update did the trick

@hgg, I haven't had the chance to explore the new #WordPress studio introduced this week, but I'll give it a try and determine if I should switch over from #LocalWP.

But my testing routine changed anyway, with the introduction of https://playground.wordpress.net/.

I use it for exploring nightly builds and plugins, so when my (locally backed up) content like posts / pages / images is not relevant for the test.

Time to test localwp.com + bricksbuilder.io for WordPress.

And I see I will need SSL support for bricks... so that copy/paste feature can work haha, total nonsense. #wordpress #developer #bricksbuilder #pagebuilder #wp #wpdev #localwp

#WordPress devs working on Windows with #WSL: what's your setup look like? I'm running #LocalWP and using #VSCode, and it seems like it's best if the files I'm working with are in the WSL filesystem. I'm hoping that keeping a theme folder in WSL and symlinking to the Windows filesystem for LocalWP will work ok but it doesn't seem ideal.
