Poi, parlando, collega quel fastidio a un tentativo recente di Botox: “L’ho fatto per la prima volta a 60 anni, circa due anni fa”, racconta. L’ultima iniezione, però, potrebbe essere anche l’ultima. “Credo che abbia contribuito all’irritazione agli occhi e a questo strano disegno sulla fronte, quindi probabilmente ho chiuso”.
Ma come vive l’invecchiamento l’amatissima attrice di Friends? “Mi fa paura l’idea di vedermi un giorno come mia nonna. Ma allo stesso tempo non vedo l’ora di interpretare ruoli più adulti”. È decisa, Kudrow, e le sue parole sono frutto di consapevolezza: “Non sono un’attrice da commedia romantica. Non sono carina o sexy, o il tipo di personaggio il cui unico problema è essere troppo goffa per trovare un fidanzato. Non vedevo l’ora di invecchiare ed uscire da certi ruoli. Non è strano?”

She arrives at the interview wearing dark glasses and with irritated eyes. She’s only two minutes late and apologizes immediately. Then, as she speaks, she links the discomfort to a recent Botox attempt: “I did it for the first time at 60, about two years ago,” she recounts. However, the last injection might be the last. “I think it contributed to the irritated eyes and this strange mark on my forehead, so I probably stopped.”
But how does the beloved *Friends* actress experience aging? “I’m afraid of seeing myself one day like my grandmother. But at the same time, I’m eager to play more mature roles.” Kudrow is determined, and her words are the product of awareness: “I’m not a romantic comedy actress. I’m not cute or sexy, or the kind of character whose only problem is being too clumsy to find a boyfriend. I couldn’t wait to age and get out of those roles. Isn’t it strange?”
